Teleo was engaged to fabricate and install 6 flights of stairs to service the Bridges Hill and Convent Hill as part of the upgrade of the Bridges Hill Park by Cessnock Council. The stairs connect walkways to improve accessibility up the hill and link with the new Lookout on Convent Hill.

 

Teleo Design were engaged to design, construct and install the stairs and viewing platform to capture the spectacular views, giving improved access and connecting the park to the CBD of Cessnock. 

 

Works were progressively installed as approach paths were completed by Council. The stairs were designed in modules to standardise components and simplify installation on the hillside.

 

Decking was supplied in FRP to give good grip in all weather conditions. Handrailing system complies with DDA requirements improving the usability of the stairs for the vision impaired.

 

The stairs and lookout were formally opened by Cessnock Council in April 2021
