Harold Park Shelters, Harold Park, NSW

Harold Park Shelters

The City of Sydney converted the old Harold Park Paceway into residential and public park space. Our client was given project to supply a series of bespoke shelters to the park. These shelters are quite unique in shape.

Teleo Design were engaged to provide engineering design for the new structures to be manufactured in steel and galvanised for durability. There were 3 types of structure to be designed.

The Kiosk structure was to be installed over park seating and was fitted with a tension membrane roof. Perforated Aluminium Side panels were installed to give depth to the roof. The structure was to be installed on footings that were constructed in advance of the design works.

2 sizes of shelter were also designed. These were installed with perforated aluminium roofing to give dappled shade for the play equipment below. The roof lines include large cantilevers which provided challenges to ensure structural stability during construction and maintain clean edges for the sides.
