Lake Pertobe Bridge, Warrnambool VIC
Teleo Design was engaged by Warrnambool Council to Design, fabricate and install a replacement pedestrian bridge at the Lake Pertobe park area. This park is a popular destination for families to play and explore. Council were seeking a design that would compliment the environment and maximise the use of recycled materials.
Teleo designed the bridge to reuse the existing timber pylons removing the need to disturb the lake bed. The bridge was installed with recycled plastic decking boards and bollards. Teleo included a wave pattern handrailing system to compliment the coastal setting. The style of bridge includes a tubular arch filled with W bracing for the town of Warrnambool.
Teleo worked with local contractors to remove the existing superstructure and construct new abutments and paths. The bridge was constructed in Ballarat and delivered as a complete bridge. Installation was completed in less than a day.
